U.S. refining leaders know the pressure. Tighter margins. Aging assets. Contractor-heavy execution. Complex turnaround slips on critical path represents millions in lost margin Behind all of it the craft workforce that executes the, and less operational knowledge than a decade ago.
At refinery scale, value is rarely lost on the obvious problems. It’s lost in the seams, but in unmanaged variability that compounds from FEED through execution. It’s lost between owner teams, EPCs, subcontractors, operations, maintenance, engineering, and turnaround execution, in interfaces nobody formally owns. That is where project integration matters. Not another layer of oversight. Integration connects the work, aligns the contractors, and protects execution excellence when it counts.
PTAG will be at Downstream USA 2026 in Houston. Jay Moser and Michael McBean will be connecting with downstream leaders on how owners can recover predictability, reduce value leakage, and strengthen contractor alignment across capital projects and turnarounds.
If you’re in Houston, reach out to Jay and Michael. Let’s start the conversation, it’s worth having before the next turnaround window opens.

PTAG’s Jay Moser and Ted Weitzman will be attending CURT’s Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence summit on June 9 in Cincinnati. This one-day event is designed for construction and capital project leaders seeking practical insight into how artificial intelligence is already influencing project execution, workforce performance, safety, governance, and business competitiveness.
As the construction industry continues to face increasing complexity, constrained labor markets, evolving risk profiles, and growing demands for stronger project outcomes, AI is becoming an important topic for owners, contractors, and project delivery organizations. The conversation is no longer limited to future possibilities. It is now focused on real-world implementation, operational readiness, and the steps organizations must take to apply AI responsibly and effectively.
The CURT summit will focus on several key areas relevant to today’s capital project environment, including practical AI applications across the construction lifecycle, workforce strategy, risk and governance, decision-making across capital programs, and implementation lessons from industry leaders. These topics align closely with the challenges many organizations face as they work to improve predictability, productivity, safety, and performance across complex projects.
At PTAG, we understand that successful project delivery requires more than adopting new technology. It requires strong leadership, disciplined processes, reliable data, effective governance, and the ability to integrate innovation into the way projects are planned, managed, and executed. AI has the potential to support better decision-making and improve outcomes, but its value depends on how well it is aligned with project needs, organizational readiness, and practical execution.
Participation in events like CURT’s Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence summit allows PTAG to stay engaged with industry leaders who are actively shaping the future of construction and capital project delivery. We look forward to the discussions, insights, and lessons that will be shared in Cincinnati, and to continuing the conversation around how emerging technologies can support safer, smarter, and more effective project delivery.

18th Annual Saskatchewan Mining Supply Chain Forum
PTAG is pleased to be attending the 18th Annual Saskatchewan Mining Supply Chain Forum on April 15–16 at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon. Representing PTAG at this year’s event are Andrew Grant, Andrew Dubreuil, and Ugo Santone, who bring deep expertise across project controls, construction management, and integrated project delivery.
As organizations across Mining and Minerals, Energy & Resources, Infrastructure, and Power and Utilities continue to navigate increasing project complexity, the themes addressed at MSCF are more relevant than ever. From improving cost and schedule predictability to leveraging digital tools and data for better decision-making, the industry is at a critical point of transformation.
PTAG’s work aligns closely with these priorities. Our teams support clients in establishing robust project governance frameworks, enhancing project controls maturity, and integrating Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) that provide real-time visibility into performance. Through benchmarking and performance assessment, we help organizations identify gaps, implement best practices, and achieve measurable improvements across their project portfolios.
A key area of focus at this year’s conference is the role of data-driven insights in delivering successful outcomes. PTAG continues to see strong demand for integrated solutions that connect planning, cost, schedule, risk, and field execution data into a unified ecosystem. This integration enables more proactive management, reduces uncertainty, and supports better strategic decision-making at both the project and portfolio levels.
In addition, the growing emphasis on governance, quality, and HSSE reinforces the need for structured, disciplined approaches to project execution. PTAG’s experience across complex, large-scale projects enables us to support clients in strengthening these foundational elements while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing project conditions.
The MSCF Conference provides a valuable platform to exchange ideas, share lessons learned, and explore emerging trends that will shape the future of project delivery. PTAG looks forward to engaging with industry peers and contributing to discussions on how to drive improved performance, reduce risk, and deliver greater value across capital programs.
If you are attending MSCF 2026, we encourage you to connect with our team to discuss how PTAG can support your organization’s project delivery objectives.

Last week, PTAG team members came together for a Day of Solidarity—an opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect—led by our PM7G joint venture partner, Makhos, in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21).
The day began with a Land Acknowledgement and Smudge Ceremony, led by Bob Watts and Emily Shaughnessy of Makhos Inc. Their guidance provided deep insight into the cultural and spiritual significance of these traditions, creating a meaningful space to engage with Indigenous perspectives.
This gathering reflects our ongoing efforts to foster dialogue, understanding, and authentic relationship-building. It also reinforces our commitment to advancing reconciliation through respectful collaboration and sustained, tangible action.
At PTAG, we recognize that reconciliation is not a one-time gesture, but a continuous process—one that requires humility, active listening, and long-term dedication. We are grateful for the opportunity to walk this path in partnership with Indigenous communities and leaders, and we remain committed to learning and growing together.
We encourage others across our industry to take time to reflect on how we can all contribute to reconciliation in meaningful and lasting ways.
